Process: Polyvinyl alcohol is produced from vinyl acetate by polymerization and low-alkali-alcoholysis.

 

Physical properties: Polyvinyl alcohol is a white soluble high-molecular compound, not soluble in ordinary organic solvents. It is a white solid in the form of flakes, with excellent tensile stress, mouldability, impact strength, wear resistance and excellent electrical insulation.
