Polypropylene fibers for mortar or Concrete

      Polypropylene fibers are designed as a new engineering material specially used to reinforce mortar/concrete and prevent them from cracking and water penetration. They are manufactured by unique processes, and have very good performances such as high chemical stability, high corrosion resistance. They can form structures in three dimensional distributions after being put into mortar/concrete, and enhance bond with mortar or concrete, therefore, they can effectively reduce and prevent mortar or concrete from early plastic cracking and greatly improve the frost resistance, plastic shrinkage resistance, reduce water penetration etc.

II. Performances of mortar or concrete reinforced by polypropylene fiber

      The PP polypropylene fibers with trifoliate cross section are manufactured by special technology, and the surface is also handled by special chemical treatment, therefore, the fibers can be dispersed homogeneously and the bond strength with mortar or concrete is greatly increasedThus, the performances of mortar or concrete are improved. As a kind of secondary reinforced engineering material, the PP polypropylene fiber play an important part in improving permeability and minimizing cracks as plastic concrete shrinks.

III. Applications

      The polypropylene fibers are widely used in mortar or concrete. IV. Standard dosage rate and Mixing process

      Standard dosage rate is 0.9Kg per/cubic meter of concrete for the fiber that its diameter is 3048μm ,For certain applications, the fiber dosage can be decreased to 0.45-06Kg per cubic meter of concrete for the fiber with diameter of 20μm.The mixing process is the same as common cement concrete, no special requirements. But if PP fibers are added after mixing conventional concrete materials, you had better continue to mix the materials for 30-60 more seconds in order to make fibers disperse homogeneously.
